Kenya written by Fatima Alsairafi

This month I was lucky enough to visit Kenya. As magical as I have pictured it would be through the many documentaries I've seen and the many blogs I've read over the past years, nothing compared to the reality of it. They tell you that Kenya is a place where you will get to see the Big Five, witness the great migration or enjoy the white sands of the Indian Ocean beaches. What they don't tell you is that Kenya is a place where you will feel human again.

Kenya gives you the opportunity to become closer to nature which makes you more aware of your connection to a "greater whole" with people, animals and the earth. In its vast landscapes and its mass movement of animals, you realize that you are a small creature among other creatures. You are a hundred miles away from civilization on a Kenyan Safari and you look up to a sky that's free of buildings and skyscrapers and you see the most beautiful sunrises, sunsets, and stars that shine as you have never seen them shine before. And that's when you realize how disconnected we are from the real world in the "engineered world" that we live in.

When you are surrounded by all this natural beauty and simplicity, you create a connection that is so profound with the people you are sharing this experience with. You see them for who they are with no judgement and see the beauty of their character and appreciate that those beautiful people exist and how each one of them makes this world a better place in their own unique way.

@rshrsho: the hot air Balloon ride, pristine beaches, game drives and the close encounters with animals were all experiences that made @qaflh live up to its slogan "journeys that make you fall in love". I hope you realize that it goes beyond that. I hope you realize that by creating @qaflh you created journeys that make you fall in love with souls 💙
